How It Works

1.

1.

A straw draws from the bottom of the cup where your drink is hottest and can burn you.
2.

2.

Sipify's aeration displaces liquid for a smaller sip.
3.

3.

The aeration also reduces the velocity of the liquid for a slower sip.
4.

4.

Squeezing Sipify's cover adjusts the amount of air-flow.

Customer & Swallowing Expert Testimonials

I have used the Sipify, and for myself as a normal swallower, it is excellent in that it allows me to control the amount of liquid per sip. That translates well for patients as it can also provide that control safety. For example, someone learning to sip from a straw can extract a small amount and swallow then as oral strength increases so can the sip. I also can use my tongue to momentarily block the mouth of the straw. That is a technique that can be used to help a patient increase tongue mobility. I have conducted a trial with one patient with Parkinson’s, who reported an easier flow of liquid compared to a regular straw.

I have some swallowing issues and I find that using the Sipify straw slows down my drinks and makes them so I don’t choke as much. I drink everything with Sipify.

I do  really love these straws. I recommend them to my patients all the time. Sure, other control-sip straws and cups are on the market…but I have yet to find one as effective as the Sipify straw in controlling bolus size and allowing my patients to enjoy various hot and cold drinks. I’ve been working with people who have motor speech, cognitive, and swallowing deficits for almost 20 years, and this is still my favorite. It’s easy to clean and easily transported to a party or restaurant. The other thing…and this matters so much…the straw does not draw attention to the patient like a sippy or control-sip cup does.

I’ve had the chance to trial Sipify with both hot and cold beverages – I found it to be a seamless transition from a regular straw (helpful as to reduce any potential “intimidation” factors for patients to try something new) – and a gentle, appropriately paced liquid flow! I will very much recommend your product for appropriate patients in the future!

After an endoscopy I didn't have any initial issues. A few days later, however, I started to feel a sort of "scratchy" feeling in my throat anytime I drank. It was bothersome to the point of me trying to avoid drinking anything. I reached out to a friend who is a dental hygienist and she suggested I try her Sipify. Honestly, at first, I didn't think how it could help but I trusted her opinion.
I used the Sipify and I was able to drink without that "scratchy" feeling or the feeling that whatever I drank would come back up, causing "spit-up" nausea. After a few days of using the Sipify, the scratchy-ness and annoyance of doing such a simple task was alleviated. For me, it was a welcome relief. I still don't really know how it works but I am grateful that it worked for me.
I have used the Sipify on and off as a sort of preventive measure when I have issues from time to time. Utilizing Sipify benefits me tremendously.
